I am so fed up with stupid people. Especially those who go around spamming about how great Obama is/Democrats are and how the horrible evil awful Republicans are keeping them from getting things done. 1. Neither party is perfect, but of the two I am more in favor of the Republicans. (I vote 3rd party, by the way). 2. Democrats have a majority in the Senate as well as the President.

Most of the time the things they blame the Republicans for were either started by Democrats or Democrats took the idea and ran with it. And the misinformation: Well, it’s true that Corporation taxes are getting lower. Obama actually has decreased them. Also, the Obama deportations — he counts those who are turned away at the border, something no other president has counted, so of course his numbers are higher. Women’s equal pay — I happen to think they have equal pay for equal work in almost all cases. When they don’t, they need to report it. The government agencies don’t have time to go around checking up on every employer and every salary every month. Women who don’t report it are wimps and deserve lower salary. Women who don’t have the same degree (BA vs BS, Math vs. Social Work, etc) do not have equal training. If they are in the same job, have they been in that position as long as the men? If they have the exact same degree, or higher even, and the same years of service in the same position (not in a different department.. I mean identical) and they still get paid less, then there is discrimination. Chances are they haven’t been there that long, don’t have the same years of experience or experience in the same jobs, don’t have the same degree, and are friggin whiny crybabies. Women’s rights were the issue today. I pointed out it was already illegal to discriminate against them and got chewed out because the other law was full of loopholes? Oh really, and the new proposed one isn’t?

There are a couple of things I’d like to see change in employment. First, we should be free to discuss our salary with anyone, anytime. It shouldn’t be a state secret. It is OUR information as much as the employers. Second, with the high unemployment rate many things have bothered me. First, prospective employers should’t be allowed to do a credit check on ANYONE. I don’t care who they are or what they are. Even banks don’t need them. Do a criminal background check, no problem with that, but my credit is MY business. Not to mention that people who have been out of work for 4 years probably have had problems paying bills, and now you’re going to keep from hiring them because of it, so they will continue to have problems. That is so not right. As for women getting the same pay as men, if it happens it shouldn’t. On the other hand, if a woman gets a job and discovers the men who have been there long before her get more than she does, she needs to grow some balls and realize she’s not a princess and has to earn the higher salary just like they did, with TIME in the position. Oh, another thing I hate is dress codes. Men should not have to wear suits, ever. I get suspcious any time I’m approached by a man in a suit. What is he trying to hide that he feels a need to pretend to be so official? Maybe nothing, but that’s my thought process. Honest people wear jeans or comfortable slacks. Women wear jeans or comfortable slacks. Some people like a bit more formal but I have never met anyone other than a model who actually enjoyed wearing the high heels and fancy duds. We’d all do better work if we were comfortable than if we were pressured to dress up.

Enough for now. I just wanted to tell a certain really stupid woman that she is the queen of entitlement and SHUT THE EFF UP.

Done with a quarter of school, and decent grades. Two more weeks of work before a break. Darling daughter has a boyfriend and is spending days away from home which makes it quiet here but it would be a lot nicer if she cleaned up her messes before she went out for the day. People tell me to make her do it. How, I ask them. “Take something away from her.” “Don’t let her leave home until she does it.”  Hello… people, we are dealing with a young adult who physically can do whatever she pleases. She can leave if she wants to. I cannot physically force her to clean anything (not that physical force ever worked for that).

What can I take away? The only thing I have that she values is internet and I actually did take that to get her to comply. It took 6 months before she even did one thing. At the moment she needs internet for online classes so it’s not that easy to take away. I do limit it though, and she complained about not having time to do her work. She said it would be my fault when she flunked. I pointed out that she had the whole day to study and just played all day, so it was her own problem. I also pointed out she could go use the internet at the library, which according to her does not have the software she needs to run for her class.

Today: cleaned bird cage. Took out trash. Am taking it easy and must clean every pot in the house because she will use literally every one before she has to clean one to cook with. I told her when she went out that I was going to take them away, so tomorrow she’ll get violent and scream at me about what a horrible mother I am and that I am as guilty as she is. I’m not sure if she’s just stupid or will lie if she thinks it will help. I’ve cleaned every pot I’ve used. Came home from work on Wednesday to find the one I used and cleaned on Tuesday dirty. In her defense, though, part of her problem is that I won’t let her put them in the dishwasher anymore. They don’t fit and break off the little spacers that hold dishes up on the bottom rack. About half of them are gone and it’s hard to find a place to even put the plates in there now, so I told her we either had to do all the plates and bowls by hand, or all the pans by hand. I fully expect her to put pans in the dishwasher the moment I’m gone for the day though, and it really will be useless for more than 2 plates and some glasses.

I also discussed budget with her. That’s for another time, though. I’m still waiting for what I sad to sink in. We’ll see.

    The living room

The boxes. She points to them as proof that I leave my messes in the living room.

It depends on the mess and what’s going on. Those came in recently, it’s been raining constantly and I’ve been working and in school so much I’m exhausted. They are boxes. They won’t rot, smell bad, or get outdated just sitting there. I don’t leave dishes or food wrappers out.

Looking at the boxes though, there’s the one for the coffeemaker she told me was so fabulous. I ordered it. The box is mine which must mean the coffeemaker is mine too. I could remind her of that the next time she wants coffee.

I look at the floor. There is the rat’s blanket that Meghan always leaves where I have to avoid tripping over it if I go near the couch. There are bits of foam rubber from the couch. Everywhere. By the couch, by the tv, in the hall by the front door, in the kitchen, in my bedroom, in the bathroom. That is the kind of mess that wanders if you don’t pick it up, so when I said she had to vacuum up after the rat months ago I had a reason. My boxes. Her foam rubber floor covering. Hmmm. The boxes don’t seem to go anywhere else. The coffee table. Today all it has on it is a potato chip bag. She was proving to me that she doesn’t leave her stuff around and she is so blind to it she doesn’t even realize she missed something.

There were pictures but they are on the camera and refuse to transfer. I’ll deal with them when I’ve got more time and am less stressed.
